Custom Apparel Trends

Omaha Promos owes a big share of our business to custom apparel, uniforms and branded gear. We're talking specifically about screen printed t-shirts, embroidered polos, decorated caps and hats, even embroidered socks bearing your company's name and/or logo.

As students of our craft, team Omaha Promos has established a few trends in the custom apparel market for 2017. This piggybacks off our recent post about surging popularity of select promotional products last week.

For custom apparel in 2017, Omaha Promos suggests you consider the following:

  1. 1980's graffiti and paint splat designs. More and more clients are going "back to the future" 80's style with graffiti themes, neon colors, paint splats and even the occasional tie-dye thrown into the custom apparel mix. While these street artist inspired hats, caps, tees and tanks may appeal to a younger crowd, don't dismiss them in your custom apparel promotional strategy for 2o17. P.S. If in doubt, go bold (colors are in!).
  2. Sublimation. Sublimation is a process by which dyes are printed onto a transfer medium with a specially prepared inkjet printer and delivered under heat and pressure. While sublimation only works on garments made of polyester or on specialty objects made of polyester, the end product doesn’t fade easily, wear, or have any texture or weight. Why is sublimation popular? It's less costly, requires smaller minimums, is light under the hand (soft feel to the touch) and is durable.
  3. Vintage lettering and distressed clothing. Everyone likes a good comeback. The fashion industry is no different. Bowling shirts, logo sweats, destroyed denim and track suits are all making their way back into Americans' wardrobes. Be mindful of this trend and consider putting your name or logo on any of these garments for a sure fire result.

As always, Omaha Promos is your value added leader in custom apparel, uniforms and promotional products. Call or e-mail us today for your free consultation!
